The Mescaline Babies started their work in 2009, deeply inspired by the deathrock of recent years, with bands like Scarlet’s Remains and Christ vs. Warhol, but also remembering past icons like Christian Death and Bauhaus. With all these influences, they created “Crush,” where deathrock melts with other genres like goth and alternative rock.
Heavy pulsing basslines, effected guitar, powerful vocals, and tribal drumming make up these eleven tracks, where catchy post-punk songs alternate with dark goth ballads, with lyrics dealing with apocalypse, social issues, love, and surrealism.
