Subway To Sally - Bannkreis / Hochzeit

Metal meets medieval - celebrated as a new trend at the turn of the millennium, mixing current rock and pop music with historical instruments. This phenomenon is in no small part thanks to SUBWAY TO SALLY, who took this risk already in the early 90s and thoroughly mixed metal with bagpipes, violins and shawms.

Together with the albums "Bannkreis" and "Hochzeit", SUBWAY TO SALLY triggered a medieval metal boom, the extent of which was not even remotely foreseeable when the albums were released and which continues to this day. The lyrics by Subway To Sally frontman Bodenski have since become some of the most beautiful in German-language music.

The newly released "Bannkreis / Hochzeit" - as a double CD in a high-quality digipak - includes the 2 albums that welcomed the emerging new millennium. The simple mixture (of styles) has given way to something new, something unique: the unification of these styles.
