Dividing Lines - Waiting For Life

The Leipzig post-punk quartet Dividing Lines is releasing its new studio album as vinyl-only (inside-out cover, lyric sheet, download code) on Plastic Bomb Records.

With a new lineup featuring singer Marie Böwing and bassist Erich Walchor, the band has created their most expressive work to date with "Waiting For Life." In their unique style, they fuse death rock, wave, and post-punk into a driving blend. Dividing Lines play with classic post-punk elements and also recall the gothic rock of the early 80s, while at the same time making it clear with spherical samples and continuous keyboard melodies that they are a contemporary punk band. Precise drums, driving basslines, and penetrating guitar riffs support the socially critical lyrics of the ten songs, to which Marie lends a unique charm with her angry yet melodically penetrating voice. "Waiting For Life" is a consistently captivating deathrock/post-punk album that creates an appealing mix of nostalgic 80s vibes and contemporary wave-punk.
