New Order + Liam Gillick - So It Goes...

In the summer of 2017, New Order returned to the stage of the Old Granada Studios in Manchester, where Joy Division had made their television debut in 1978 on the British music show "So It Goes." For these acclaimed shows, New Order rethought, deconstructed, and reconstructed a wealth of material they had conceived throughout their career: familiar and peripheral, old and new. The live show was a collaboration with visual artist Liam Gillick, who has had solo exhibitions at venues such as Tate Britain and MoMA in New York, and was performed under the aegis of their long-time collaborator, composer Joe Duddell, with a 12-piece synthesizer ensemble from the Royal Northern College of Music.
