John Maus - Songs / Anniversary Rosé Edition

For the 20th anniversary of his debut album 'Songs' (2006), a limited anniversary edition is being released on rose-colored vinyl. John Maus' first official album is a seminal work of lo-fi synth-pop and minimal synth, which helped define the hypnagogic pop movement of the late 2000s. Maus' distinctive baritone, his use of vintage synthesizers, and his church-modal harmonies create a sound somewhere between 80s goth-pop, new wave, and medieval church music. The album was recorded at home between 1999 and 2003 and released in 2006 on Upset the Rhythm / Ribbon Music. The rose-colored LP comes with a small risograph note as an insert. Incl. MP3 download.
