Bronski Beat with new singer developed a rougher style with more real instruments and greater stylistic variety.
“Truthdare Doubledare” marked a significant change of direction for the synth-pop trio Bronski Beat, as singer Jimmy Somerville left the band and was replaced by John Jøn Foster. While the band continued to clearly advocate for gay rights and political activism, the production shifted to a rougher and rawer style, characterized by more real instruments, still powerful lyrics, and greater stylistic variety. This album, never re-released before, includes the number 3 single “Hit That Perfect Beat,” a complete remastered version, new remixes by artists such as I. JORDAN and Ted Carfrae, as well as rare, unreleased studio and live versions.
